Dearly Beloved, Are You Listening?

Lately I've been into DIY, making tees and tanks and shorts for summer. Haha. Its really hard though, since I cant sew so I just manually stitch the fabrics. But I really enjoy making my own clothes out of those old wardrobe that my mum is about to throw out. I basically went over those bags of old clothing that she kept.

Anyways today let me show to you two of my most fave DIY outfits. The first is my L ) V E Tee, which is of course in reference to one of my fave bands Angels and Airwaves. You can see me wearing it on the photo abouve :) Its one of the easiest ways to make a shirt. All you need is a blank piece of tee and then spray/paint the design you want. And you're done!

The second item I made is this distressed cut-off shorts. Actually this was a pair of baggy, old fashion bootleg jeans owned by my mother way back. I dont think it fits her anymore so I cut it and made this.

Its my first time to distress a pair of jean shorts so I'm still trying to figure out the best way how to do it, and how to make some designs on it. But overall I really loved the result and it has become my favorite pair of shorts already.

I didnt cut it too short by the way because I'm not used to showing that much skin. So the length would definitely have to depend on your preference.

And to finish my outfit, I got hold of my trusty vans sneakers. Gotta love Vans :) I think I had this for two years already and I am not going to replace it anytime soon since it still fits me haha. And also because I really like the doodle design on this. I think its unique as I havent seen anybody in my country wearing this? HAHA lol but seriously I think they dont sell it here. I got this on Journeys :P

Fashion Haul: New Tops

I know I shouldnt be buying too many things at a time, specially when I am so broke.. But I just cant help it when I see something that I want, its like my hands automatically pays for it. HAHA. Anyways, I bought 3 new items this week, again. But this time I bought some new clothes.

First is this statement tee. I really love the color of the top. Green used to be my favorite color. Also, I love the print on this shirt. It says "No Music, No Life". And for those who know me, they know that I am a huge music lover. I practically live under my headphones :P

The next two items I bought are plaid button down shirts. I really have a thing for button down shirts, especially the plaid ones. If I could only wear one type of clothing, I would definitely choose button down shirts. Although I dont think the weather right now would agree to this type of clothing.

This one is a light colored plaid top, blue actually. Im not really a fan of blue but it wont kill me to have a light colored piece of clothing in my wardrobe.

And this last one is my favorite actually. Its a red plaid top, and I really love the color combination. I already have a lot of ideas on how to wear this one.

And that's it. I am looking for fashion inspiration and ideas on how to style button downs. Also, if you have bloglovin, you can comment down your links so that I can follow you back cos I need more blogs to read now :)

Its Not Summer Without Yellow

Hey! Its been a while since I last bought a pair of shoes. I figured since most of the shoes I own are sneakers (Vans, Converse, Keds), I decided to be a little girly and bought a pair of flat shoes. I still have a pair or two though, but I wanted something for summer.

The battle between a pastel pink, mint green and bright yellow pair was quite close. But like I said, since summer was my most influential factor on buying, I decided to go with this bright yellow flats. Im not really fond of bright and bold colors, ones that attract attention. But this would provide a pop of colors in my plain and simple outfits.

The shoes itself is simple with no designs at all. But up close, the material seems to be made of woven stuff.

As you can see the details, its like its being woven like a mat or something. And I like how it looks, rather than those shiny ones.

Im still thinking about possible outfits to wear with this. For summer, Im guessing some tank tops with cut-off shorts, or cool tees with shorts/skirts.

Also one of the reasons why I bought a pair of flats was because Im looking for something comfortable to wear for job interviews. I just hope that it isnt too yellowish :P

P.S. Im usually a size 8. But sometimes I tend to go a size bigger cos of comfort reasons. And hopefully this will last me longer.

Haul: Nichido Cosmetics

As promised, here's another haul post that I am going to share. This time, I got two items from a local brand called Nichido Cosmetics. These stuff can be found mostly in local malls and in Watsons too. I think I really have a thing for lippies, cos most of the products I own are lipsticks *_*

Items bought: Eyeshadow Palette, Matte Lipstick

First up is this matte lipstick. The packaging is really simple, and the lip shade can be seen on the top. I like how its plain black and then the brand name is somewhat transparent-ish as it gives a very cool holo effect.

The shade is called "Love Potion", which is a stunning red lipstick. Its quite bold than my usual style, but not "super bright red" bold. I think this is the reddest lippie I own (except for my NYX Lipgloss).

In the photo it might look like its shimmery but nope, its really matte. But very moisturizing if I may say. Plus, it glides on really easily which is a plus for me.

And then here's an eyeshadow palette. I already have a palette from BH Cosmetics and its got way more shades than this one, but I really missed my Wet n Wild palette and this sort of reminds me of it (though the shades are not entirely similar).

The palette is called "Enchanted Green". One would think that its a colorful palette, but no its not. Its actually a simple and everyday eyeshadow palette.

I like how it has a mirror inside. And its pretty handy too. Its small and light weight, which makes it easy to fit in your bag.

Here's a close up shot of the palette.

Product reviews/swatches will be posted soon, when I find time to take decent photos. Or when the weather will start to be somewhat less hell-ish. Its really hard to take photos when you're sweating. And I want to take photos at daytime cos the light is more natural. Ugh, this really isnt summer weather. Anyways, till next time =)

Haul: IN2IT Cosmetics

Its been a while since I last posted a haul post. Luckily, the local mall had a sale for days so I was able to grab a few items that were quite interesting for me. So today's haul would be dedicated to a cosmetic brand called IN2IT.

Im not sure if this brand is known worldwide, but from what I gathered its an Asian brand and you can find it in Watsons. I didnt get a lot though, just 3 items cos even if they were marked down, the brand is still quite expensive for a poor girl like me (though I suspect this brand is still considered as a drugstore brand).

Items bought: Face Powder, Lipstick, Lip Gloss

The weather here right now could rival the gates of hell. So you could just expect too much sweat, plus oil and dirt. So I badly need a face powder to combat the oiliness on my face. This is my first try on this particular brand by the way, so I dont really know what to expect.

I think I am a medium when it comes to skin color, Im not really sure so I grab the Honey shade which I think was closest to my skin tone.

The powder has no mirror by the way, just a foam applicator? I dont know what its called lol. This reminds me of Maybelline's face powder refill, but this one's more expensive :(

Next is this long lasting lipstick. I dont really wear lipstick that much, and I dont know why I bought this. Perhaps because it was on a bargain and I'm a sucker for bargains ha!

On the packaging, the product claims are written. It says it has UVA protection and vitamin E. Hmm could be good.

Lol I forgot to remove the price :))

The shade is called "Carnelian" which is a dark red almost brown shade. I dont know how to describe the color but its really pretty.

The packaging is cute too. Its really simple but there are diamond like stones embedded on it, giving it that princess-y vibe.

Here's a photo of the lippie. And the stones. Haha

Lastly, I got a lip gloss to match the lipstick that I also bought. Its called a colourshine lip gloss, which I find a little sparkly (can you see the glitters?). But I got it anyway cos it was marked down at half the original price. Plus, I really like the packaging.

And that ends this haul post. I'll be posting a review of each product soon so you guys can see what these products are like, if you're curious. Also, I'll be posting another haul later and this time its from a local brand.
