REVIEW: The Face Shop Watery Tint in #04 Red Up (Rouge Vif)

Today we will talk about one of my favorite water tints - The Face Shop Watery Tint in #04 Red Up. I consider this as one of my go to tints when I just want to look fresh and simple everyday specially when I go out or go to work. This usually retails at Php 250.00 but they are sometimes on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free, and that's when I stock up.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
  • Infused with hydration; for bold, vivid lips
  • Half water and half gel: Hydrating for easy, light wear
  • A straight tip for easy application
  • Variety of colors available
  • Vivid and long lasting
  • Recommended for those who found existing tints too dry, want a variety of colors to choose from and even application

INGREDIENTS

Purified water, Butylene glycol, Glycerin, Aloe vera leaf juice, Damask rose flower, Ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate / Vipicopolymer, Polyacrylate crosspolymer-6, Dipropylene glycol, (1) (CI 45410) of Red No. 104, (1), (2), (3), and (4) , Red No. 102 (CI 16255)

The applicator is a bit shorter, but it does the job. I can easily apply the product on my lips without any hassle. It also picks up the product well.

Its a pretty red tint, and here's how it looks like when swatched on my hands. One swipe and the color is already opaque, however if you want the color to show up more, you can always layer the tint on your lips.

It also leaves a hint of color over time. Here's the swatch on my hands after washing and cleaning with just water. It's not waterproof and might just transfer specially if you eat oily foods, but a little touch up once or twice in a day isn't bad specially or this color pay off.

This is my bare lips, with obvious pigmentation, dry and flaky. Like most water tints, I always have problems with the tints showing up on my upper lips, but with this tint, it does the job slightly better. I guess its because its a red tint which is a bit dark, making it show up a little better than other colors.

Bare Lips

This is is one swipe of the lip tint. Most of the time this is already enough for me as it instantly brightens your face and gives you just the right amount of color for a daily look. What I don't like is how the tint settles to the inner part of my lips, but on the other hand it somewhat looks like a gradient look so it really isn't that bad.

Now this is two layers of the liptint, and you can see most of the colors showing up on my lips already! I love how it looks so red on the bottle, but when applied, its just a subtle red which is my preference for a daily look. Plus, layering it over doesn't really scare me because its just a water tint, unlike lipsticks which tends to be a bit heavy over time.

Overall, I am really happy with this product. I will definitely purchase it again specially if it goes on sale because its affordable, and the color is so pretty and the color pay off on my lips is good enough for me.
