Review: Magnetic Nail Polish #60 from Born Pretty Store

I cant believe this post has been in my drafts for 3 years! HAHA. Seriously? Im not even sure if Magnetic Nail Polishes are still in today. Oh well, better late than never :D

Wayback 2014, magnetic nail polishes came to be. Im glad I was able to take part of this trend, as Born Pretty Store sent me this pretty nail polish to try out. I cant decide which color to choose as I love everything from the collection, so I settled for something dark in shade as I think the design would show up more in darker shades.

Oh well, excuse my nails as my application isnt really that great. And to be honest, I only managed to apply it on my left hand because you know how it is when you are used to using the right hand, the left hand pretty much is not working lol.

And since this is something Ive drafted years ago, I no longer have photos of the tool I used, but you can find more info about the product and the steps at Born Pretty Store. Enjoy the photos!

What do you think of this trend? I know its been 3 years but were you able to try this one out too?

NOTD: French Pink

Ive always had a soft spot for French Tips because of its simplicity. And so I decided to recreate the traditional one, and thus the French Pink nails!

Too girly? Or sparkly? Too much pink, I know. But its really a cute color combination. I used a glitter nail polish as the base and a hot pink nail polish for the tips.

Here are the things that I used: BK Nail Polish in Hot Pink which I got from Born Pretty Store and an OMG (Crystal Sand) Nail Polish in Quartz which I got from the local mall here.

This bottle of nail polish is pretty cheap and is of good quality too. The name of the shade is "quartz" which is a light pink shade with glitters.

If you are wondering why it is called Crystal Sand nail polish, I think it has something to do with the texture cos after application I felt that the nail polish has a rough texture similar to that of a sand paper. But no worries cos once you apply a top coat, the surface will be smooth ;)

This hot pink nail polish is actually an old bottle that I got from Born Pretty Store. I have been using this for quite some time and I think its been a year since I had this and the quality is quite impressive cos it hasn't fried up until now.

Unfortunately, the writings on the back is in Chinese or Korean so I cant really understand what it says, or what the actual name of this shade is.

Here are closer shots of the final result of my Hot Pink French Tip nails. I am really loving this style so I guess I'll be doing more of this combination. Its very fun and easy to do too.

I hope you like today's nail art!~ Have a nice day.

Autumn Acorn

I've always loved autumn. And even though we dont have that season here, I sometimes act and dress up like its fall. Haha. Okay, I'm not sure about the "act", but the dress up is true. And so while I was trying to browse for autumn fashion, I came up with the idea of doing an autumn-ish nail art.

What do you think? Does it suit the fall season? For me it does. The colors reminds me of acorns, or is that how it is called? I think I just heard of that "fruit" or what, but if I remember it right, its kinda similar to a nut, or was it a corn? Lol.

And also, I think its a great color combination, since we all fell in love with the ombre trend. I just used colors which are very in-nature, thus the dull or lifeless shades. Afterall, autumn is fall, which signals the start of being lifeless (for me thats how I see the turnabouts of the 4 seasons).

I'm just not good with lines, so please excuse the messy application and uneven nails.

All in all, what can you say about this nail art design? Is it a yay or a nay? I feel like my nail art designs are becoming simple these past times that I am able to do my nails. Hmmm. I guess I need an inspiration so that I can get back to my usual designs.

Pastels and Prints

Ahhhhhhhhhh. I know the random pattern/prints are trendy these days, and of course I had to jump right into the band wagon and join the club. Hoho. So yeah, meet my phone's Aztec print case/cover. I didn't really choose this particular one, I just had no choice cos its this or nothing O_x . But still, I'm happy that I got this cos its still pretty cool plus it keeps my phone safe cos sometimes it falls off my bed at night when I am sleeping zzzz.

Also, I had on a new color on my nails. I forgot the nail polish color, but it was just a cheap bottle that I got from somewhere I forgot also(boo!) Anyways, I love this shade cos green was my first favorite color. Does this shade pass as a pastel? Im not sure, but it also looks like a shade of mint to me.

xxxxx. Sorry for being MIA for so long. Ive been wanting to go back to writing, but then with the recent calamities that hit out place (earthquake and super typhoon), I wasn't really able to do much yet, except for sleeping and eating and watching the news. Honestly, I was really scared. And with the aftershocks still coming even after a month, and also the 4.5 magnitude earthquake I experienced again last Wednesday, I am really in a state of blankness (if there's such thing). It took me weeks before I was able to go out the house or surf the internet. Hell, I even missed out on the October 22 episode of Pretty Little Liars! (Yup!~, I am pissed.) Also I am pretty much behind The Vampire Diaries eps :(( Really. The calamities have taken its toll on me and my usual internet life lol. But still, I am thankful cos despite everything, we are safe and I think thats all that matters to me now.

Maybe in a few days my life will be back to normal. I am surely hoping xx. And hopefully, the Christmas season will bring hope and happiness to all of us to be once again happy, just like how it was before these tragedies :)

NOTD: All things Girly and Beautiful

Ive been trying to fix my nails by not putting nail polish on it for about a month, just to see if I'd get back my old healthy nails pre nail polish years. I think I've abused it too much because now Im experiencing broken, unhealthy nails. I cant even make it grow a few millimeters because it would just break. Good thing I have naturally long nails so even if I cut them really short, they would still look longer than normal because uhm they naturally long u_u.

So after the "no nail polish" period, I tried to do a simple nail art just to make my nail look nice because plain nails makes my hands look dirty lol. But I dont want my nails to break again so I started with something simple and natural so that it wont damage my nails badly.

Here I only used a top coat and a yellow nail polish for the dots. Yep, that pink color is only top coat. The label says "Natural" but I know better, cos the natural is the colorless one right? Haha. Anyways, I love how its tinted a little rosy pink. One layer gives my nails that pinkish coloring, but I wanted it to be a little more obvious so I added an extra layer. Now that's better for my liking.

With my nails painted using the top coat, I still find it plain so I added a simple touch - the ever most popular polka dots. I've seen this trend first on a Korean drama (Rooftop Prince), wherein all fingers except the fourth one (is it the index? or wedding finger? haha lol sorry) have the same nail polish color or design. I think its pretty cool, adds a nice touch to plain boring nails.

Forgive me, but I dont think I have mastered the art of creating dots. Lol. Seriously, I think a first grader can do a lot better than me. But Im still proud of my work >:)

So what do you guys think?

Bonanza Tip

Mum bought a new nail polish from a local brand called Caronia. As usual, its in line with her colors (which ranges from dark purple to plum or purple red or something). This particular shade is called Bonanza Tip. To be honest, I dont know where it got its name, Im as clueless as everybody else, but never mind.

Anyways here are a few more shots of the nail polish and my left hand nails. And uhm, excuse the dark shadows in every photos. I was doing the photo shoot at night and somehow, the position of the light and my camera, or maybe me all in all, was in a wrong place, thus the creepy shadows lol.

Its a nice color, isnt it? But its just not the colors that I would usually go for. I like purple and violet though, but not in shades like this cos I prefer the bolder ones or perhaps a lighter or pastel shade of purple.

Oh look! I even got a blackberry phone to go with my nail polish. Haha.

NOTD: Half the World is Sparkling

And because french tip nails are hard for me (lol), I just had to improvise. And I came up with the ever common nail art style of 50-50, half of your nails have this and the other half has that. But instead of the usual colors, I decided to try something that I thought Id never be caught wearing.

First, I used clear nail polish on my nails to serve as the base polish. I also did this because I know how much trouble glitters can be when it comes to removing them, so I thought that perhaps with a nail polish underneath it would be easier because I can just peel it or something (it worked by the way, I just had to peel the clear nail polish when I took this off).

With my shaky hands, I draw a diagonal line from the top right going to the bottom on the other side. I used black nail polish for that since black is the universal line color (according to me haha). And then using a glitter nail polish, I filled the bottom half of my nails. Working with glitters is sometimes a chore because most of glitter polishes are sticky or something, or getting those chunk of foil glitters can be hard too because mostly they clump to each other.

For this particular nail design, I only used two nail polishes. Well, make it three because I also used clear nail polish =)

I think I still have to work on my lines because they are a bit wobbly and not straight.. but the glitters kind of made up for it ^_^ I have never liked using clear nail polish alone on my nails because I feel like my nails are naked, but sometimes it looks pretty nice to me, not to mention classy.

Its just a very simple nail art design, which I have come to love as well. I might do another variation of this next time.
