NOTD: Half the World is Sparkling

And because french tip nails are hard for me (lol), I just had to improvise. And I came up with the ever common nail art style of 50-50, half of your nails have this and the other half has that. But instead of the usual colors, I decided to try something that I thought Id never be caught wearing.

First, I used clear nail polish on my nails to serve as the base polish. I also did this because I know how much trouble glitters can be when it comes to removing them, so I thought that perhaps with a nail polish underneath it would be easier because I can just peel it or something (it worked by the way, I just had to peel the clear nail polish when I took this off).

With my shaky hands, I draw a diagonal line from the top right going to the bottom on the other side. I used black nail polish for that since black is the universal line color (according to me haha). And then using a glitter nail polish, I filled the bottom half of my nails. Working with glitters is sometimes a chore because most of glitter polishes are sticky or something, or getting those chunk of foil glitters can be hard too because mostly they clump to each other.

For this particular nail design, I only used two nail polishes. Well, make it three because I also used clear nail polish =)

I think I still have to work on my lines because they are a bit wobbly and not straight.. but the glitters kind of made up for it ^_^ I have never liked using clear nail polish alone on my nails because I feel like my nails are naked, but sometimes it looks pretty nice to me, not to mention classy.

Its just a very simple nail art design, which I have come to love as well. I might do another variation of this next time.

Nail Art Goodies from Born Pretty Store

After reviewing the Dearlee Apple Green Nail Polish, Echo from Born Pretty Store has again sent me another product to review. This time they let me choose two items, and I choose the Gold Glitter Nail Polish and the Magnetic Nail Polish in #60 .

These came in after a month and I am super excited to try them out. I didn't realized that the glitter nail polish is also from Dearlee, so basically I now have two from that brand :) The magnetic nail polish on the other hand is from a brand called CH Nail, and its my first time to hear from this brand. Not to mention, its my first time to try out the magnetic nail polish trend.

I choose this color because my little sister loves the shade of violet, and I kinda miss her because she is not here. This sort of reminds me of her :|

And this particular glitter nail polish was a dream come true, especially since I couldn't afford the one from OPI. Haha :p

I'll be reviewing these stuffs soon so please do watch out for my coming posts. Once again I would like to thank Echo and Born Pretty Store as they have always been kind and friendly to me. Definitely one of the best online shops I have ever been too, and I really mean it, not just becuase they are a sponsor.

I really miss doing nail art posts and I hope I can be back to my regular almost everyday blog posting. Until then, take care :)

Lace Stickers~ NOTD

Been busy with this and that, and now finally had time to do my nails. Remember this pretty apple green shade of nail polish that I got from Born Pretty Store? Here's how I styled it. Totally lazy to do designs so opted with a simple lace sticker to add some fun to plain green nails.

These lace stickers are also bought from Born Pretty Store. It comes in a pack with 10 stickers on it. One sticker is enough to use on both nails, and if your nails are smaller then there might be some excess too :)

Love the lace sticker? I'll show you the designs that I choose next time :)

Review: Dearlee Candy Color Nail Polish in Apple Green from Born Pretty Store

Yay finally an apple green nail polish that feeds my craving for pastel and summer-ish nail polishes. A big thank you to Born Pretty Store for offering me to try out and review this Dearlee Candy Color Nail Polish ♥ . If you happen to check this nail polish on their shop, you'll see that its part of a nail polish kit or collection, with a total of 8 candy colored nail polish.

These nail polishes are really perfect for suuummmmmerrr! Haha. Anyways on to the nail polish that I got, here is an honest review and some swatches for you guys :)

This nail polish has a bright green shade which resembles that of an apple, thus the name Apple Green. The bottle reminds me of those nail polishes from OPI and I find it adorable. But I got confused about the nail polish after a while because the brush handle has a design similar to that of the crackling nail polishes. But then again, it isn't one of those crackle thing, its just a plain nail polish. The brand I guess is Dearlee, which seems so asian to me (specifically Korean-ish. Lol I am thinking of Lee Min Ho now haha).

At the back the ingredients are written as follows: Butylacetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite.

Haha crackles? NOT

The shade is very very much the same as the ones in the photo, and its really an apple green. Consistency is thick and can be applied in one or two coats to reach the desired color. The brush is thick which made it easier for me to apply the nail polish (but still I am not good at doing it :| )

And here it is on my nails. It looks somewhat different in color as I am only using my mobile phone and the setting is in night mode.. But you can clearly see that its a bright apple green shade and I love it. Green used to be my favorite color before purple came to view but now I think I am going to be using this nail polish a lot =)

And because I am a noob at nail polish application, mine turned out to be streaky and just ugly so I had to go for three coats to achieve my desired shade.

Overall, I am really happy with this nail polish. It is sometimes difficult to look for nail polishes that has the same color as the ones on the bottle as some can be confusing and turn out to be sheer, but this particular one isn't because what you see is what you get.

This nail polish retails for $4.39 on Born Pretty Store. But if you buy all 8 shades you'll only be paying $30.43 which is a huge saving of course. And if you want to save an additional 10%, just use the coupon code JELW21 upon checkout to receive 10% off your total order. BPS ships worldwide for free and that's another saving :)

I am really happy and glad that I got the chance to receive this product. I am hoping to get my hands on the remaining 7 colors soon so that I will have a complete collection of all 8 summer nail polishes which I am really looking forward :)
