REVIEW: The Face Shop Watery Tint in #04 Red Up (Rouge Vif)

Today we will talk about one of my favorite water tints - The Face Shop Watery Tint in #04 Red Up. I consider this as one of my go to tints when I just want to look fresh and simple everyday specially when I go out or go to work. This usually retails at Php 250.00 but they are sometimes on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free, and that's when I stock up.

The Face Shop Liptint Promo

Hurray for another Buy 1 Take 1 promotion from The Face Shop! This is kinda late by the way but still I want to show my latest lip tint purchase from them. I just bought 2 lip tints for the price of one - yay!

When I learned that The Face Shop is having another BOGO deal for their watery tints, I immediately went to the mall to "check" it out, but somehow ended up with a bag of 2 new lip tints. The first shade is a repurchase, mainly because I really loved the color pay off and the long lasting effect of this shade. Its number 02 Coralster from the watery tint collection and I have already reviewed it here. Now the second one is actually something that I have been wanting to try for the longest time but I just couldn't find it, not until that day. Its number 06 Rose Garden, which is similar to Peripera's Celeb Deep Rose in color. Its a very pretty one and I am so excited to try it out.

Forgive the other one for no longer having the seal, I was too excited I used it immediately after the purchase lol. The shades are very pretty right? I'll be reviewing #06 soon so stay tuned.

REVIEW: The Face Shop Watery Tint in #02 Coralster

Today I'm gonna be reviewing my second watery tint from The Face Shop. I actually got both tints on sale, 2 pcs for Php 250. This second tint wasn't even in my choices, but after testing it on my arms and waking up the next day with the tint still on it I realized this could be a good one, and so I went back to buy it.

Photos were taken at night so it might appear a bit off, but in daylight setting the bottle looks more of an orange, hence the shade name "Coralster". So i never really wanted this because well its orangey and coral doesn't look good on me, but the tester actually left a shade of a nice pink on my arm, which is a bit puzzling for me.

The packaging is pretty straightforward and simple, which can be a good thing. Unlike most Korean products, this lip tint has no girly girl looks on it but just a very simple and classy one. On the bottle itself you will see the product name and the brand name.

I am not familiar with grams and ounces and quantity versus price and stuff but this one contains 5g worth of product. And for the price I got it for? Steal!

On the back packaging you can see the name of the shade which is "Coralster". It doesn't say much, or maybe it does but its in Korean so..

The applicator wand, for me is just like any other lip tint applicator. It does the job, yes. It isn't that long and not that short either. Application has always been easy for me as it glides smoothly on my lips and never gave me any trouble at all. I also find it easy to apply on the corners of my lips.

Don't be scared about the initial color on the bottle. I know its a bit scary as it does look orange on the package, plus the name says coral but trust me, looks can be deceiving. Here I've swatched it on my arms and although it has a hint of orange at first, but wait till it settles completely and has dried up. I just don't like how this seems to be sticky? I mean, comparing it to my The Face Shop Watery Tint in #05 Cherry Red which is watery and runny (thus the name watery tint lol), this one is a bit sticky for my liking and sometimes application is a bit hard as it forms lumps.

I've washed my hands with running water for about 3 to 5 seconds and rubbed my hand as well. Now it has faded a bit and has dried up completely but you can still see the color. I don't really understand why its called coral when its pink for me. I mean, coral should be something orange-ey, right? Haha

Now my lips are really pigmented so the color might be different than the swatches but here you go! I've put a little bit on my lower lip and you can see how pink it is as opposed to my upper lips.

Now here I've tried putting it on both lips, but not as much as you would if its a lipstick. I actually like this style wherein you just dab a little of the product cos I think it makes you look young and fresh, if that makes sense haha.

Overall I am totally sold and in love with this item. Whenever its on sale, I try my best to drop by the mall to pickup a couple of bottles. But even without the sale, the item is still very affordable so I will definitely repurchase, specially this color. Hopefully I can try all shades. Maybe next time.

DAY 1 - A Make Up Product You Use Daily (10 Day Blogpost Challenge)

DAY 1 - A Make Up Product You Use Daily
(10 Day Blogpost Challenge)

Now this is something thats very easy for me. I can live even without an eyeliner, but not without my lip products. Im currently into lip tints right now so this is something that I use more than 10 times daily :D

I cant really choose a favorite, but I've slowly disposed some of my lip products already (maturity at its best, because you dont really need a lot, right? right). Now these are all I have left, an I use them alternately, depending on my mood.

I used to have more than just these but adulting made me realize things and so I slowly got rid of those I dont really want or use. But sometimes whenever I see something new or cute I just find myself reaching out for it and buying it :3 Haha

REVIEW: The Face Shop Watery Tint in #05 Cherry Red (Rouge Cerise)

HI! Im back again with another review. This time its gonna be a lip product because I'm a sucker for lip tints. Yazz, for me its better than lipstick because it isn't too heavy for my liking and its very easy to apply as well. Also, I'll be honest. Its because of Korean dramas that I became addicted to lip tints haha.

PRODUCT INFO

  • Get Fresh lively clear lips.
  • Texture holding moist moisture,
  • water gel tint that expresses fresh, lively and clear lips.
  • Water gel type applies evenly without any stains.

There's nothing much, except for the name itself, the shade/color and the amount of product inside which is 5g.

PACKAGING

Its housed in a small glass bottle which is easy to carry. I always make sure that is in a standing position to avoid possible spilling (if there's any). So far I havent noticed any leak yet, maybe because I make I store it right.

The shade I got is called Cherry Red. I like it because its a dark red shade but after a few hours of using, it stains my lips pink which is still fine for me.

Applicator is the usual wand type, which gives easy access to the product. It also has a stopper inside by the way, which is perfect as I don't want to get more product and end up wasting it. It allows me to control my usage which is good.

This tint is a water based tint I believe, hence the name watery tint. It glides smoothly when applied mainly because its water based I guess? I have nothing against water based tints but usually they tend to last for a few hours only.

Now onto the arm swatches. Personally, I am not a big fan of arm swatches (at least for me) because the skin color is different compared to my face so it may not be as accurate. But still its a good way of showing the colors.

The first swatch (above) is when swiped once. Quite pigmented right? The swatch below is when I rubbed the tint for a few seconds. Its starting to become pink already.

Although this is water based, it actually lasts longer compared to most watery tints. On the photo below I tried to wash with with running water and it still looks intact, albeit washed away.

And this is after rubbing it for a bit. Color is still slightly there as you can see even if it has been placed under running water. And for me its a plus because that would mean less retouch time. Yay!

Now for some shameless selfies and whatnot. Sorry for the crappy pics, I am just using my camera phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x) so quality isn't the best but this is how it looks like when applied to the lips.

At first glance of the product, I was really looking forward to seeing a dark red. Which I did get but the color seems to lean on towards a pink color rather than a red. But it still looks pretty so I don't mind.

And there you go! I still have two more shades from this product line and I will be reviewing both soon. Lately I've been into lip tints so you might be seeing a lot of tint reviews in the future.

Swatch - The Face Shop Nail Polish in BL-603

Between work and all the craprama I am experiencing, I rarely find time to blog, much more do my nails, haha. And so this post was supposed to be up last year. But yeah, forgive me :P And also, pls forgive the low quality photo as I was only using my camera phone.

Okay so today I have here a new nail polish swatch. This is my first time to use The Face Shop's nail polish as I have no idea that they too are selling nail polishes. I usually stick to the obvious brands haha lol. Anyways, I dont know where to find the shade color, or perhaps it really does not have any cute or annoying long names like OPI, Wet n Wild etc. Instead, I only found the "color code" hehe, which is BL-603. Is The Face Shop a korean brand? Because usually korean brands have no names for their nail polishes like the ones from Etude.

The nail polish is a light blue in shade. Or is it baby blue? Honeslty I dont know the difference, all I know is that its blue. And yes, its a very pretty shade of blue. It reminds me of spring (yeah, because I always associate light colored stuffs like pastel things with spring).

And here's how it looks on my nails! Haha, I know I'm really that messy when applying nail polishes, so please dont mind. But admit it, the shade is really pretty, but I dont think it suits me.

I applied two coats btw because I find it a little sheer for only one coating. I didnt use a top coat too, because sometimes it messes up my nail art (i.e. smudging). Or perhaps I need a new top coat. Suggestions?

In the end, I think this color is really pretty and perfect for the summer. Which reminds me that I have to sort out my wardrobe now because the summer heat is starting to annoy me. I need new clothes, but I think I'll stick with my DIY short shorts right now. My jeans have to be cut because I hate them already HAHAHA. I'll be posting more DIY ideas soon too, so stay tuned :)
