REVIEW: Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum

Today I will be sharing another new product offering from a famous brand called Dear, Klairs. They have a lot of different products, but this Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum is new and I got to review it right now. I've been using it for more than a week already, so here are my thoughts on this product!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

10% Vitamin C derivative serum that brightens and tightens for radiant, bouncy skin.

FEATURES
  • Powerful brightening with the Dual Brightening Complex
    • Contains 10% 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C derivative) and Niacinamide that helps improve overall skin tone and pigmentation (melasma, blemish, freckles).
    • Brightens and boosts radiance.
  • Packed with 5 antioxidants for bouncy, firm skin
    • Contains a potent mix of vitamins (C, E, B3, B5) and madecassoside (Centella Asiatica) to target early signs of aging such as dull, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness, and fine lines.
    • Clinically proven to improve fine lines, tighten and smoothen skin.
  • Lightweight but Hydrating Formula
    • Quick absorption into the skin without leaving oily residue and is perfect for all-year round use and for all skin types.
  • Extra Safe, for Even Extra Sensitive skin
    • Dear, Klairs’ expertise of mild but powerful formulas that cause less irritation/less heat, making it safe for sensitive skin.
  • EAAsy! Easy as ABC
    • EAAsy = Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is Easy As ABC.
    • Vitamin C derivative that is easy to use, day and night, and has no warmth or flaring compared with Pure Vitamin C. It also does not have any irony scent and is a non-oily formula, making it sit comfortably even with makeup on.

Key Ingredients
  • 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (10%)
    • 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid is a more stable derivative of pure Vitamin C that is soluble in both water and oil, and has brightening and anti-aging qualities. Oxidizes slowly and has the same rejuvenating effect, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid has anti-aging benefits as pure as Vitamin C since it shares a very similar carbon structure.
  • Niacinamide
    • A derivative of Vitamin B3 that is well-known for its ability to give hydration and brighten skin by disrupting melanin creation.

The product is colorless, like water but isn't too runny. It smells like oranges or Vitamin C, similar to another Wishtrend Vitamin C product. However, the scent on this one isn't too overpowering but you know it is faintly there. Most Vitamin C serums that I've tried are sticky, but trust me when I say this one isn't! After applying it to my face, it doesn't feel sticky at all. It is also easy to apply and blend and you can definitely layer this with other skincare products.

Now here's a before and after photo of my skin using the charging serum. The upper photo shows my skin without the product and the photo below shows my skin after using the product. There might be a bit of difference in lighting but you can see that the photo below looks healthier with a glow.

I have already used another similar product from Dear Klairs, the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. Although on paper they might sound and look the same but the vitamin drop is for clear dark spots and pigmentations while the charging serum is for brightening and firm skin.

This product is available and is launching today, May 1st. It retails for $40 but you can get it at 20% off for only $32 from 2023.05.01 ~ 2023.05.07 CST. If you'd like to try out this product first, you can get a free Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum Sample Kit from Wishtrend

REVIEW: By Wishtrend Clear Skin Shield Patch

Today I will be reviewing an item I got from Wishtrend's Team Acney Box. I posted about the whole package March 2022 and I am now posting a review on the By Wishtrend Clear Skin Shield Patch

This brand has always been pretty popular when it comes to Acne products, and I was so excited to see they now have pimple patches too! I've been using this product lately as I am getting a lot of acne breakouts specially on my right jawline. Is it as effective as the most popular CosRX Pimple Patches? Let's find out.

This pimple patch contains 39 patches in 3 different sizes. According to their website, this is made for all skin types. The sizes and dimensions of the patches are as detailed below:

2 Shapes: Circular, Oval
3 Sizes: 10mm, 12mm, 14x23mm
39 Patches in 3 Sheets: 10mm * 15 Patches, 12mm * 15 Patches, 14x23mm * 9 Patches

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

This hydrocolloid acne patch protects the skin against dirty water, dust and physical contact. The thin, breathable fabric quickly absorbs impurities while naturally covering problem areas. Irritation-free spot care for breakouts and pimples.

HOW TO USE:
  1. Clean and dry the problem spot before use.
  2. Select the right patch for individual problem spots.
  3. Gently press the adhesive side of the patch over the problem spot to cover it completely.

For reference, this is the pimple that I will be covering with this pimple patch. As you can see, there's something inside (pus, maybe?) the pimple and it looks like it is about to pop out lol.  You can wear the patches overnight or up to 12 hours. Just replaces them when they have been worn for an extended period of time.

There are 3 sizes for the patch and I used the bigger circular patch since the pimple I'm trying to cover up is just a small one, but I reckon the smallest patch would be too small too. After putting it on my pimple, it does a good job of hiding it as it doesn't look as bad as the before photo without any pimple patch. From afar, it doesn't look that visible too, which is a good thing.

After leaving the patch on for hours, I have removed it and it looks like the pus has all come out and all that's left is just the pimple itself. The patches help absorb impurities and quicken the healing process and reduce the size and severity of the inflammation as you can see. For continuous healing, I will be using Clindamycin which I will soon be reviewing as well.

Overall, this pimple patch is a good alternative to the ever popular CosRX Pimple Patch. And although it is a bit more pricey, but you get a lot more patches for this brand too. Would I repurchase? Well, if it is on sale I'd definitely buy this again.

Review: By Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash (Part 1)

Today I am excited to share a new facial product that just arrived earlier today. This is something new to me so I am really looking forward to receiving it. This will be a two part review post by the way, part 1 being about the unboxing, the packaging and first impression and part 2 (which will be uploaded in a couple of days) will be about my review and experience with the product.

The product I am talking about is the By Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash. The reason why I am excited about this item is because this is my first time to use a powder face wash. Most of the time I use gel, liquid or foam facial wash so when I saw this powder wash, I was intrigued and wanted to try it. Aside from that, it has green tea which is said to be good for acne. Although I haven't had that much breakouts lately, but I have also cut down on my skin routine and just stick to the basic.

REVIEW: Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner

The product we will be talking about today is one of the cult favorites online, and is always raved about by most beauty bloggers - the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. I got this from Wishtrend by the way, and it costs $22.00 for a 180ml bottle. This toner is very popular in the AB community for years already, and I've always dreamt of being able to try it out myself. I remember a friend of mine calling this toner as her holy grail, and now that I finally have the chance to use it, I am so excited to share my experience, thoughts and reviews about the product. Does it live to the hype it's been getting for years now? Let's find out.

This bestselling hydrating toner is a must-have for both dry and oily skin types. Packed to the brim with moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and aloe, it plumps up the skin’s natural barrier and enhances moisture retention. With a viscous yet fast-sinking consistency, you can apply multiple layers of this toner to make skin look instantly moist and supple. It’s rich in anti-inflammatory ingredients that instantly calm redness and repair damaged skin. With soothing centella asiatica and licorice root extract, it also works wonders in minimizing breakouts for acne-prone skin.
I know most of you have already heard about this product for a while now. There might be a few changes to its formulation and packaging over the years, however it is still very popular among beauty bloggers.

BENEFITS
  • Plumps up skin, restores moisture balance, and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier with hyaluronic acid
  • Balances the skin’s pH levels to improve overall skin health
  • Allows moisture to penetrate the skin evenly and deeply with phyto-oligo and wheat amino acids
  • Resolves skin dryness and reduces swelling with anti-inflammatory properties found in centella asiatica and licorice extract
  • Creates the perfect blank canvas for the succeeding steps in your skincare routine
  • Made with a lightweight, fast-sinking consistency you can layer over and over without greasiness
PRODUCT INGREDIENTS
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Copper Tripeptide-1

HOW TO USE
  1. After cleansing, gently pat the toner on dry face using the heat of the palm to promote full absorption.
  2. We recommend multiple applications on dry areas.

The toner itself is transparent and looks like water. However, you can feel that it is more than just water once you start applying it to your skin. It might look like water but it is a bit thicker and just a tiny bit sticky, at least for me, but nothing over the extraordinary. I still find it lightweight and is easily absorbed by the skin. It is said to be good for Dry/Dehydrated/Combination/Oily skin type, but might not be suitable for those skin who is sensitive to essential oils.

After applying the toner to my face, you can see that it looks healthier and moisturized. What I love about this toner and its consistency is that it doesn't seem to dry out my skin after using it, which is common in most toners. I guess this is one of the reasons why it is so popular, because it is hydrating.

Overall, I am glad I am able to try this toner because it has really helped my skin in terms of hydration. It might not do much for my acne and acne scars, but it keeps my skin hydrated and looking healthy. It is definitely a must on your skin care routine.

May Purchases Part 2

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing good despite the pandemic that we're all experiencing. I haven't posted any reviews for a while apart from my purchases, which is what I'm going to be posting today as well. We've been quarantined for almost 2 months now, and even though the rules have been less strict since yesterday, it still is hard to go out and I still can't go back to working. I thought this would work out in my favor as I've been focusing more on skin care and haven't been using make ups at all as I'm just at home, but unfortunately I currently have a lot of acne on my cheeks, jawline and even my forehead! I'm not sure what exactly happened but I'm still trying to find a cure to thus dilemma. Anyways I've been using the products I purchased last time on a daily basis for 2 weeks now, and although I am not sure if it worked or if it made it worse, but I'll continue using it until next month and post a review by then to see how it goes.

Anyways, since the rules have been less strict and the mall has opened, I was finally able to go to Watsons for the first time in 2 months! I have been practicing social distancing and wore my masks and washed when I arrived at home so I hope it should be all good. I don't plan to go out again anyways unless its really urgent. I have been doing some reading online while on quarantine so when I got the chance to go to Watsons again, I knew what things to buy. Here are some of the things I have recently purchased.

Hada Labo Hydra & Whitening Face Wash - Php 295.00 (Watsons) | Dr. Sensitive Acne Clearing Pads - Php 49.00 (Watsons) | Nacific Fresh Herb Origin Serum - Php 605.00 (Shopee)

This is my first time to try Hada Labo's facial wash and I am so excited. Its a bit pricey compared to my usual facial wash (Cathy Doll) but it is understandable as this is a brand from Japan. I have other products from the brand which I got from Japan last year and they were really cheap, so I am really hoping this pandemic will end so that I can travel again. The acne clearing pads from Dr. Sensitive is something new to me, as I've been meaning to try clearing pads online but I am unsure if it is worth it. When I saw this product, I instantly purchased it just to try it out and see its worth it. I have started using it yesterday so I will probably post a review by next month.

Now this lip tint was in impulse purchase online when Club Clio had another sale on Lazada! I mean, who can resist 50% off right? Plus, I really love their velvet tints so I am so excited when I can finally use them again. Also, they are having another sale right now but I am not going to let myself be tempted again :3 Good thing the items I got from them will expire by 2022 so I still have plenty of time to use them, but for now I am keeping them safe in my fridge.

Peripera Ink Velvet Tint #04 - Php 225.00 (Lazada)

This product is very popular right now and some even called it Jun Ji Hyun serum as it is said to be her holy grail! So here I am joining the bandwagon too haha. Actually I've seen this product years back, when it still was called Natural Pacific, together with its old packaging. At that time it was still expensive for me so I couldn't really get my hands on it, but now that it was on sale, I finally purchased one. I've been using this in the evening for a few days already, together with my The Ordinary Glycolic Toner, so hopefully it will work for me. I'll be doing a review maybe next month to give time for the results to show, if there's any.

Nacific Fresh Herb Origin Serum - Php 605.00 (Shopee)

The seller from Shopee was kind enough to include a freebie - Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream. I'm not sure what this is for but I haven't used it as well.

And that's it! I am really hoping for the best for my skin after this quarantine ends as I have been strictly following a routine with my The Ordinary products and have recently started using the Nacific Serum. I've been taking pictures of my breakouts for comparison and I will be uploading it on my blog probably next month.

May Purchases - Skincare Products

And just like that, its May already! We are still under community quarantine, but at least some things are still available, like online shopping ^_^ . Today I'll be sharing the first package I received for this month - skin care products. I was actually thinking that since we can't go out and if we can, we still have to wear mask, make up wouldn't be practical so why not invest in skin care instead right?

I bought 4 items online from Shopee PH. Its from a seller of Korean Products. To be honest, I have a few sellers whom I purchase from, but this particular seller sold them for a cheaper price, plus the reviews were also great so I decided to buy from them. Seller was also kind to include a sample freebie :)

L-R: Apieu Nonco Tea Tree Spot Patch, CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Freebie: Etude House Baking Poder Pore Cleansing Foam Sachet

I've tried The Ordinary products before, specifically the Niacinamide one. I purchased 5-6 products from them 3 years ago, and I can't recall what exactly happened. But I do know I wasn't able to finish all bottles which was such a waste. I've been seeing a lot of reviews online again about how effective they are, specially the retinoid and peeling solution (which I also purchased years back), so I wanted to try them again and this time make sure to commit to use them properly and continuously.

I only got 2 products this time as I don't want to overwhelm myself with a lot of items at a time. I'm not really familiar with layering of skin care products, so for now I am trying to follow a routine wherein I use the Niacinamide in the morning and the Toning Solution at night. I try not to layer anything else after using them as I wanted to see if it works or if its going to give me any breakouts, so I'm trying to hold back on my other products for now aside from my usual cleanser, peeling gel (a few times in a week) and my acne lotion.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 240 mL - $11 (Deciem) | Php 720.00 (Shopee)

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 30 mL - $7 (Deciem) | Php 510.00 (Shopee)

I also included some Acne Patches, just in case we get to go out in the real world. I purchased about 5 boxes of pimple patch last December in Seoul but I've already almost used them up so I bought some extra in case. The patches were really sticky and nice and cheap too! Once things are better and we are now allowed to travel, I will definitely buy a lot of those patches.

Apieu Nonco Tea Tree Spot Patch - Php 25.00 (Shopee)
CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch - Php 130.00 (Shopee)

So that's it for now. I'm still on my 5th day of using the bottles I've purchased and so far I haven't had any major break outs apart from what I already have T_T. I am really hoping that these items will do wonders for me as they're a bit pricey, otherwise I might have to resort to different products again.

April Haul - Make up!

Hi everyone! Its almost May 2020 already, can you believe it? Time flies by so fast, and with the quarantine going on, I didn't even realize we're almost halfway through the year! I've been staying at home for a month now, and I have missed out on a lot of things. Yeah, we're talking about food here - milk tea, samgyupsal and Korean barbecue T_T but that's fine. At least my online purchases are arriving!!

So 2 weeks ago, Club Clio Philippines had a 50% off sale at Lazada Philippines. I consider the brand as an expensive one, as opposed to its sister company Peripera (cos I'm broke all the time), but because of the sale I saw on Facebook, I decided to just check it out and see what's for sale.. and ended up with two things haha.

Clio Pro Tinted Veil Blusher 002 Watch Out - ₱650.00 (₱325.00 after sale)
Peripera Ink Airy Velvet 007 Heart Grapefruit - ₱450.00 (₱225.00 after sale)

To give you an idea of my purchases, here's a screenshot from my order. I only paid Php 547.00 for 2 items already! I was so excited, specially with the blush on as this is my first Club Clio item (I have loads of Peripera items already).

I placed the order on April 17 and it was delivered on the 27th of April. Considering the quarantine, I wasn't even expecting for my orders to push through. So now I'm going to show you the 2 items that I got from the sale.

I've always been a fan of the Peripera Inks, and this shade is something that has been in my wish list for a while so when I saw it on sale, I instantly added it to my cart. Its part of the Ink Airy Velvet series and its shade #07.

This blush was actually an impulse buy. I wasn't planning on getting any blush on as I still have my Apieu blush, plus an unopened 4U2 blush on. But the sale price was so enticing I ended up adding this to my cart as well. No regrets though as the blush is so pretty!

Here are more photos of the items, but I will be posting a separate review for each item as soon as I get the chance to test them out. Its a bummer that I can't go to work now due to Corona Virus, so I can't use them yet. But hopefully things will be better soon so we can all go back to what we were doing prior to the quarantine - with extra extra care and precaution of course!

Huge thank you to Lazada and Club Clio for this sale. I hope they'll have another one soon so I can buy the eye-shadow palette, and a couple other Peripera Tints that I have been eyeing for a while :)

REVIEW: Nature Republic Real Gel Tint in Pink

Today I will be reviewing one of the items I got from my South Korea - Nature Republic Real Gel Tint in Pink. I actually bought a couple of this product to give to my friends, and I kept one of the pink ones for myself to try out.

The packaging is very simple and straight to the point. You get the usual tube like packaging with the details written mostly in Korean. This shade is #02 which is pink. This has a very nice scent by the way which reminds me of candies lol.

Its somewhat watery in texture, but this is actually a gel tint. I swatched it on my arm and its not runny, which makes application easy.

I tried washing the stain with water and after a couple of scrubbing, the stain is still somewhat visible. Which is a bit weird as whenever I use this on my lips, I find that the tint doesn't last very long. I'm okay with that as I like to reapply this tint because of the smell and the taste haha.

Since I am using this as a cheek tint instead, here are swatches as to how it looks on my cheeks. Excuse my face lol. This is my bare cheeks.

Since I have oily skin, I have to apply the product 2-3 times and build it up to my desired color. Here it is blended, it isn't too obvious and my phone camera doesn't give it much justice. But I am happy with how it looks like as it gives me just the right amount of subtle pink stain on my cheeks for that natural glow.

I tend to stay away from those pink or striking pink shades as I feel like it doesn't suit my skin tone, but for this product, I like how it stains pink after a couple of hours.

UPDATE: Its been 3 hours since I swatched this on my arm. I've washed my arms a couple of times already with soap and water but look! The pink stain is still visible. Surprisingly, it lasts longer on my arms but when I apply this to my lips, the color doesn't stay on for a long time. I think that's because my lips are pigmented so the tint doesn't stay on for long. Oh well, I'm not bothered as I use this as a cheek tint anyways.
