Cookie Monster

Mum went shopping for groceries the other day, and so I tagged along so that I can buy stuffs too. Shopped for like an hour and the only stuffs I got were cookies. Yeah, I think I'll get a cookie overload soon. Lol. Here's what I bought: 2 Quaker Mini Oat Cookies (Honey Nuts and Chocolate Chips) and a snack pack of Chips Ahoy Cookies.

I love eating biscuits and cookies, but not much on sweets. But I really love this chips ahoy so I disregarded my hate for sweet stuffs. Because honestly, who can say no to bite size chocolate chips? ^_0

I also wanted to try out eating oats, but can never get myself to eating pure oats for like breakfast or snacks. I know oats are healthy and blah, but its just not my type lol. So I decided to try out this mini oat cookies first to check if the taste will make me happy haha.

The first variant has chocolate chips too, and oat bits :p

And this has like pure oat taste, but with honey nuts.

In the end, I struggled to finish eating the quaker mini oat cookies cos they weren't delicious for me. Screw eating healthy, what good can it be if I cant enjoy my food?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. But I know I really have to start eating healthy soon. Yeah, soon, but not now :p

Don’t Overpay for Quality Tattoo Guns

There are a ton of amateurs out there purporting to be tattoo artists.  Don’t be fooled and go to someone you’re going to regret.  And if you are one of those amateurs, stop ruining the art for the rest of us.  I’ve been a professional artist for years and it grinds my gears when someone opens shop next to me, claims to be a pro, and churns out just the worst, generic ‘art’ that I’ve ever seen.  I’m a pacifist, or I’d be a bit more up in their faces.  Anyway, you can tell by the equipment they use, oftentimes.  I only use the best professional tattoo kits and these little kids are using what looks like toy plastic stuff.

Getting a good gun is not only about spending the most money, you can shop for discount tattoo supplies. Often they’re discounted not because they’re worse quality but maybe there’s an overstock, or you’re buying right from the manufacturer and you’re getting a wholesale price.  That’s the trick.  A good source for these types of bargains is TheLaShop.com, I’ve always been really happy with the supplies they’ve sold me.  That’s one of the reasons it’s so difficult to see these kids messing up so bad, it’s not like it’s that hard to do it right.  It’s an art that has to be done right by everyone who says they do it, or the entire industry loses its credibility and that affects me, and my colleagues who are actually doing quality work.

We can’t be having that.  Now I’m not going to get into threatening or anything like that, but I’m not also going to tolerate this kind of shoddy work being written up as tattoo artistry.  I don’t want to start any wars, I’d really much rather help the young guys get better and be more pro.  But they have to want the help first.

New Furnitures for my New Room

Yay~ We are almost done with our new house, and soon we will be moving in. That only means one thing, I'll have my very own room, and I can decorate it according to my style. Hurray! I have actually been browsing through Tumblr and WeHeartIt for ideas on how to decorate my room, and here are some of the inspirations that I found. I am actually torn between painting my walls a mint green (because its a pretty color) or do an ombre style wall with pink and purple (because its cool too). But then again, the idea of having a modern and chic room with black and white furniture is also very tempting O_o. So my ideas are still a little mixed up, but here it goes.

Style #1: This is actually very cute, haha. The colors remind me of watermelons. Nom. But really If I wanted to be all cute and stuff, I'd definitely go for this. But then finding the other furniture to match this would be a little difficult I guess. And to think I'm not really good at designing and all.

Style #2: If I opt for the black and white modern chic style, I'd definitely have something like this. White walls against black furniture? Definitely screaming class! Haha. Besides, white walls have that really clean feeling. And I just love black.

Style #3: OMG I just about died when I saw this! This is one of my dream rooms. I love the very cool feeling brought about by the green color. Its really very pretty, and very refreshing. If I pursue with the mint green thing, I'd definitely go for this look! Very simple yet very organized and beautiful.

Style #4: If I go with the ombre pink/purple style, I want a simple bed just like this because I dont want the attention to be focused on my furniture, but instead on my walls because I already have a lot of stuffs to put on my walls like decorations, posters, frames and all. Haha.

Also, if I'd have enough space I also plan to put in a small sofa or bean bag chair for lounging purposes. I love reading books so If I dont want to lay on my bed while reading, I'll have somewhere to sit by. I want something like this sofa.

Love the circular sofa! Comfy :)

I guess this chair is too big, but the idea is something like this because Ive seen this in movies and its cute. At least for me its cute Haha.

As for my walls, I have already mentioned that I already have a lot of stuffs to put and hang. I am just waiting for the moving out blah and I'm off to go! Hehe. Most of my decors are DIY btw, which I have seen online and attempted to make my own too. BUT, I do need a new mirror. A big one, for my OOTD photos (should make it easier). But if I cant find a big one to put on my wall, a stationary one would do. It would be something like this.

Ha! Camwhoring here I go. Haha. But seriously, I just want a big mirror to fit my whole body for outfit purposes. And I want it on my wall, but if there's no more space, then I guess I'll stuck it in my cabinet or perhaps just a mobile one like the one above.

So what do you think of my choices? Haha. Im not really much of a help when it comkes to mix and match coz I tend to just grab what I like. Advices and inspiration/ideas from you guys would be appreciated.

Oh, and if you are wondering where I got these amazing furniture photos, you can check them out here. If you are also looking for ideas on furniture, be it living room sofa or bedroom stuffs, you can find a lot of inspiration on that site. That's where I got most of my ideas.

Are you a Book Lover?

Ever since I was young, I have always been a reader of books. Regardless of how thin or thick, big or small it is, I would always love to read a book. As I grew older, I have started to become aware of the different book genre, and now I have narrowed down my favorites to YA Books, Horror and Suspense, Romance, Romance-Comedy and Chic lit as the usual books that I read.

Here in my place, its hard to buy a book. Not only is it expensive, but most of the books that I want to read are available in the US/Canada only, and if I'd have them shipped, it would double the cost. And so I was so happy when e-books were introduced. Now I can finally read them on the computer. And through the time technology has evolved, and now reading books has become so easy with e-book readers and smartphones and tablets.

But even though e-books are becoming more and more popular and many chooses them because they are more convenient and cheaper, hard copies and paperbacks will always be the best. For me, I would love to turn the pages of actual books that I am reading, and the feel of the book gives me satisfaction too. It is really different when you are reading paperbacks and e-books. The only negative thing about hardcopies is that they are more expensive. But if you know how to look for cheaper books, then it won't be a problem. Today, many online book stores sell both e-book and hard copies. Amazon and Goodreads are two of the most popular online shopping place for books. Most shops also sell discount textbooks, so if you are buying a book for school, then you don't have to worry about its price.

I have always wanted to build up my own mini library. And with the help of the books that I have bought at cheaper prices, as well as ones that I get from the authors themselves, I am now slowly building my own library of books. And while it may take time for me to completely fill my shelf, I am just happy and contented looking at my book collection.

Latest DIYs - Beauty and Fashion

Sayings/Framed Words

First up are these sayings or phrases that I printed out and framed. I got the idea from watching many room photos on weheartit, and since we will be moving to a new house soon, that would give me an opportunity to redecorate my room from scratch. Meaning.. I'll have total control of everything, from colors to style to furniture and all. And I specifically want to make a collage or something on my headboard.

awww there's dirt o_O

As you can see, i have printed two phrases on colored paper and framed them with colored frames too. These are quite easy to make, and you can even just put the printed output on the wall or have it laminated instead of framing them.

personal fave! haha

Bracelets

I have also been watching tutorials on Tumblr on how to make simple bracelets. Although the materials were quite hard to find here in the Philippines (sucks!), I was able to improvise some of them and managed to create two bracelets from scratch. They're not really flashy or something, just simple braided ones which are of course, my style.

This button bracelet is my favorite because I love the vintage look on the button (its just made of plastic though, not wood). Also, I love my bracelets to be of the garter types so that I can just put them on and off easily.

Makeup Box

I know that there are better make up box tutorial on the internet, but I choose this one because its really so simple and quite unique, in my opinion. All you need is just a piece of box (with cover or none), glue and different colored yarn. For the body of the box, I applied glue all over and then started covering the sides using the colored yarns. I alternated the yarn colors to give it a cute design (fail, haha), and its already done in a matter of minutes. You can then just cover the insides with colored paper if you want :) I used my finished make up box to store my lippies (sadly, i only have like 7 lip products).

Cut offs/Shorts

I was really bored and out of my mind when I saw my old pair of jeans on my closet. I have been looking for ways on how to dispose them because I no longer have space on my closet. And then I chance upon some cute shorts on the internet. That gave me the idea of cutting my jeans and making them into shorts. Of course, I dont have the skills for sewing, but yeah I managed. Haha.

This bow pocket shorts was my latest DIY. I saw something like this online and thought that it looks cute, so I made my own. The bow was easy to make, but attaching them on the pocket of the shorts was quite difficult for me. But in the end, the hard work really paid off because I love the result.

kawaii bow

This pink and purple ombre shorts was my very first DIY shorts. I really was not sure how to make it, and so I had to experiment on how to do it. First I had my shorts bleached, and then colored the upper half purple and the lower half pink. The resulting color was not so vivid, I guess because I only used a small amount of dye. Hmm maybe next time I'll know how the coloring thing works.

ombre shorts! pink and purple yay.

T-Shirt Printing

I have always wanted to do my own shirt designs, but my lack of talent is stopping me. Haha. But then I finally started making my own band shirts, starting with simple designs. Here are two of my latest shirts that I "painted" myself.

My first shirt happens to be the one on my current fave band! Yay Vic Fuentes and Pierce the Veil. I even changed my twitter username into @piercethejel hahahahaha.

Fan Girl Much?? HAHA I so love Pierce the Veil

This Blink 182 shirt is a combination of "painting" and "writing". Yep, I wrote the design on the shirt, literally. I had to buy laundry markers for me to be able to finish this thing, and the result was really nice. I am happy that I was able to pull of this design.

Fave line from this song <3

 Deconstructed Shirt

Just like the ombre shorts, I made an ombre t-shirt. This wasnt originally my plan, but seeing the nail polish stain on the sleeves made me angry with the shirt. I was about to throw it when I decided to dye it. But then again when I saw that the dye didnt cover the nail polish stain, I was angry again. I was thinking of throwing it out when I suddenly saw my laundry marker... Long story short, I drew designs on the stains.

And thank God the markers were able to hide the stupid stains. Forgive the uhm very elementary drawing. My mind was totally blank and the first thing that came to mind was music, thus the musical notes on the sleeves. Haha. But I dont really mind because I am just happy that the stains can no longer be seen, unless you look for it closely. Lol.

____________________________________________________________________________

And thats it! I know these are just petty stuffs but I really did enjoy making them. As of now I am still on the process of creating more DIYs. I'll show them again next time. Also, if you have any DIY ideas or tutorials that you would like to share, pls do tell me. Id' love to see them and try recreating them too. I think this will be my goal for 2013, recycling and creating DIY stuffs out of old items. I dont mind wearing clothes made out of my old ones, for me they are very practical and fashionable too.

Review: 24 Card Case Credit Card Organizer from Born Pretty Store

I don't really have that much cards, but since I constantly forget where I placed some of them (because they are literally everywhere in my room), I decided to purchase a card organizer. I saw one from Born Pretty Store and the wide assortment of colors sold me so I instantly purchased one.

I chose the red color because I want to spot it immediately from my pile of stuffs. Red stuffs are easily spotted most of the time.

I mentioned that Born Pretty had them in lots of colors, and here are the rest of the choices. The colors are soft like candy. Oh, the mint one is also pretty!

Price: $2.99
PRODUCT DETAILS
    Description: Leatherette Card Case
    Condition: New
    Size: 11 cm x 7 cm (Approximate)

    More details:
       - Colorful card case
       - Fashionable design
       - The surface looks like leather but it is leatherette.
       - Enables you to put your credit card, band card together.
       - Save 24 cards.
       - Easy to carry your cards with you.
       - Made from durable PVC & PU.

    Package includes:
       - Card Case x 1

And here's my very own pink credit card organizer. There are actually 24 slots, but I have only filled a few of them. I am just so happy to finally have all my IDs and cards in one place because it definitely made carrying and looking for something easier. And also I dont have to worry about losing them because I know I wont lose it if I just keep it here.

One thing I dislike a little about this product is that I find it hard to open and close the lock. I dont know why, maybe perhaps because its still new that's why opening it is a little hard, but still its only a petty disadvantage which will soon wear out.

The organizer pockets are made of semi hard plastic, the ones being used as sleeves for ATM cards. Its a little longer than my cards, otherwise it fits perfectly.

Since my cards are valuable to me, I decided to place papers and other important sheets here as well. I placed my voting paper stub on the middle part so its easier to locate.

Here's a sample as to how the card will look like once its placed inside. Haha. I painted on my information. I hope nothing important else is seen *_O

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. Once I ran out of sleeve I will again purchase another one. I hope they will also sell one with more sleeves because it will be easier to organize if they are all in one wallet.

And if you guys want to order this one, you can always visit Born Pretty Store to purchase this cute and fashionable card organizer. Its only $2.99, Free Shipping already. Plus, if you use the coupon code JELW21 you'll get an additional 10% OFF. How cool is that? Affordable yet quality and fashionable items all in one shop :)

Clipix: Organize Your Life with Style

The moment I have heard about the site, I immediately opened up an account and before I knew it, I was already addicted to it. I love to browse sites and look at photos for inspirations and ideas. Clipix really made it easier for me to track down photos that I want to save. Now, I only have to clip it on my board and I can view it anytime I want, anywhere.

Here's a screenshot of my boards. Currently, I have 6.

Clipix basically changed how I organize photos that I found on the internet. I love doing my nails and I always search the internet for designs. And now that I have clipix, I only have to clip photos I find on the internet and the moment I need to look at designs, I know where to find my collections.

I also love browsing for fashion outfits. I like to take inspirations from bloggers and fashionista worldwide and try to incorporate their fashion ideas in my daily outfits. With clipix, all I have to do is clip a photo that I stumble upon online and when its time for me to look at what I have clipped, I just look at my board and they are all organized there.

Shopping has also been easier because I just clip the stuffs that I am saving as a wish list and when I am ready to make a purchase, I just look at the list of what I have clipped on my Wish List Board.

For those of you who are iPhone users, you can also clip photos using your mobile phone because there's already a Clipix for iPhone App. Great, isn't it?

Clipix is really an easy way to organize files. Since it can be customized, it will be easier for you to remember stuffs. You can add as many boards as you want, and as many clips as you want too. You can also share the fun to your friends by sharing them on your Facebook and Twitter. And there's also an option for you to share your clips to the public or privately, depending on your preference. If you want to know more about this amazing site, then check out this video on Youtube.

So you see, Clipix is more than just clipping and saving photos, but it is also a very great way of organizing your lifestyle and daily routine. I would highly recommend you try and sign up for a Clipix account and for sure, you'll be hooked to it. I am personally enjoying clipping photos that I would want to save for future uses. How about you guys? How are you going to use clipix?

Random Selcas and Updates

Heeeeya! I've been kind of neglecting my blog for days, having no updates~ Tss so not me. Its almost the end of January, and then here comes death month for me :| Haha lol what I mean is that Valentines Day is almost here.. There's nothing much on that day because I will be heartless on hearts day </3

Anyways I'd just like to post some random selcas ^o^ I took them using my phone and added some effects. I am really enjoying these editing apps on android because they are so cool, and easy to do than manual edits via photoshop :P

Wearing circle lenses already but tried the "enlarge eye" effect :D

Arrrggh stupid baggy eyes T_T seriously have to get rid of these dark circles and baggy bags. I wish I could just remove them lol.

Guess where? TILES ==> CR Haha

The next two images were given the "sweety" effect, thus the strong outcome of the colors. I love how my hair looks like this but in reality its really dull. I think I have to go to a parlor for hair coloring and stop doing it myself because clearly its a mess.

I'd also like to share this DIY earrings holder that I made. Its really crap and ugly to look at but for now this will do because I don't have anything to hold my earrings. I have been looking for like forever for a nice jewelry stand or box but I am so unlucky. Oh well, this is quiet okay so I'll just keep this one for now :)

I also received a lot of things in the mail and I hope to be able to review/post them soon. I just need to recharge myself and hopefully by February I'll be back to daily blogging again :)
