January Haul: Korean Beauty Products

I bought a few Korean products for pre order last December, and finally they have arrived Hurray! What I really love about pre orders is the sense of surprise it gives me everytime my package is delivered as I tend to forget about things I ordered.

I only bought a few essentials, a.k.a. things that were forever on my "to buy list". This would also be my birthday/Christmas gift to myself :)

L-R: Foodholic Acerola Brightening Foam Cleansing Facial Wash, Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam, Foodholic Jeju Healing Toner in Canola Flower, Care:Nel Lip Sleeping Mask (Original), Care:Nel Lip Sleeping Mask (Lime)

Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam

I know a lot of people were raving about this product as it seems to be really effective. There are still a few negative reviews but it didn't stop me from still wanting to try it out. This is made from baking powder, hence the name and it claims to be really good against blackheads and whiteheads as well as facial cleansing.

Foodholic Acerola Brightening Foam Cleansing Facial Wash

Foodholic is a good and affordable brand. I've tried their Snail Hand Cream which is really good. People on Facebook were raving about how this lightened their complexion, and trust me, if it will lighten my skin complexion again then count me in! It took a while to fully decide about buying this as I still have a lot of facial foam and cleansers on standby but I'm quite glad I finally did.

Foodholic Jeju Healing Toner in Canola Flower

Now same group of people raving about the Acerola Face Wash were also commenting about this also helped out with their breakouts and even acne scars! This facial toner and the acerola facial wash were the things they were using and it did wonders to their skin. I am still yet to prove it, but here's to hoping...

Care:Nel Lip Sleeping Mask

I know the packaging looks familiar people are even calling it a dupe for that famous brand Laneige! It comes in the pink variant which is the original one and then a lime version came up which prompted me to get just one to test it out. I am still on the lookout for something that would maybe get rid of the dark spots on my lips but for now I'll aim on having smooth and supple lips haha.

Batch Code and Expiration Date

And thats it! I am so excited to try them out so that I can also post reviews about the items mentioned. Oh, did I mentioned I got them for a very cheap price? Yes, and all authentic too!

NOTD~ Pink, Purple, Sparkles

July is almost over. Glad that I was able to paint my nails even if I was super busy haha. Today I am going to show my nail art design. Its not that fancy, but better than plain nails, or nothing :)

The result x)

First, I painted my nails with a light pink nail polish. I used something from Etude House. I dont know what's the name of this shade because the label of the bottle is in Korean but there's a number shade for reference and in my searching I think it was referred to as Pinkade. I have already swatched and reviewed this nail polish and you can read about it here. I had about two coats since I find it too sheer for my liking.

With Flash Photography

Under normal lighting the nail polish seems a little darker but its indeed a light one.

Without Flash Photography

And then I took out my favorite bottle of glitter nail polish. Its from Wet n Wild and the shade is called Hannah Pinktana. You can also see more photos of this nail polish in my review post here. I applied it on top of my pink nails diagonally. This is how it looked like after applying *u*

And for the final touch, I added Flower Lace Nail Stickers on the boundaries of the pink and purple colors. This particular lace sticker is from Born Pretty Store. There are actually 10 pcs in one pack and I decided to use this particular design because I find it fit for this nail art :)

Again, here is the result of my experimental nail art. I think purple and pink blends with each other so I might again use this combination next time.

If you are wondering what products I use, here they are again :)

Review: Etude House Happy Tea Time Cleansing Foam in Green Tea

Hello there~

I'm back again with another product to review. This time, its a product from one of my favorite Korean brands, Etude House. I'm sure you've heard many things about them, most especially if you're a fan of kpop and other korean stuffs. But anyways enough of that, today I'll be sharing my thoughts on Etude House Happy Tea Time Cleansing Foam in Green Tea. I also have another variant of this cleansing foam, but lately I've been suing this more often so I am going to review this first.

As expected, it comes in a very nicely designed tube. I don't know why its called Happy Tea Time, but maybe for relaxing or something? Haha lol. But still I love how it looks because its green <3.

I bought it for only Php149.00, which is approximately $3.44. Its quite cheap for a big product like this which contains 150g if I read it right. I can't finish it up in just a month so its really worth the amount.

Although the tube packaging is already neat, I would have preferred if it came in a pump because that would be much easier, less hassle and more neat. But then that might cause the price to rise so yeah, tube is okay :D

It might not be clear in the photos, but the content is slightly green in color. Darn light turned it into white something. It also smells nice, a slight scent in my opinion. Maybe that's how Green Tea smells because the Lemon Tea one really smells like lemon =)

My Review

I really love using this product. I don't find it harsh on my skin. And since its a product from Korea, I really want to try it. The faint scent is another thing that I like. And since its really just so affordable, its a good value for my money. A tube can last a long long way, maybe 2-3 months even with daily use I guess.

Although I find breakouts sometimes, I don't think its because of this cleansing foam. Lately I've been really tired from work and all, having only 5-6 hours of sleep so maybe that's why I do have breakouts once in a while. Also, it tends to dry out my skin after washing so I make it a point to moisturize my skin after using this.

Overall, I am happy with this product. I am even trying to complete all the variants from this product line. Hehe. I just hope that I finish them up all ;P

Thanks for reading my review, until next time =)

Happy Chinese New Year~

Etude House Petit Darling Nail Polish in Pinkade (PK010) Swatch/Review

Say hello to my first ever Etude House Nail Polish~ Haha. This wasn't really in my plan because I find P50.00 ($1.14) too expensive for a small bottle of nail polish which I know will just go to waste because I'm not the type who keeps on using the same color over and over again. But then when I saw the bright pastel shades of this evil bottles on the counter, plus the brush handles have this really cute design too, so yeah I picked up something in pink.

I can't read Korean, but I saw that this shade is called Pinkade (PK010). Its a light pink pastel color. I think other shades of this range are all in pastel shades, so you would really like to look at them.

I find 1 coat too sheer, or maybe I just don't know how to apply it. But really, even with 2 coats I can still see a part of my nail. And since its quite thick in my opinion, I just stopped at 2 coats.

It looks really nice from a distance :D But not closely because you will see how ugly my nails are done hahaha. I like how its a light pink.

I find it expensive because I can buy cheaper brands with even better quality, but I'm not yet sure about repurchasing. Maybe I will if it will be on sale.

Can I just ask a question? Im not sure if its just this bottle or all of their nail polishes, but since I haven't read anyone  commenting about the scent of this nail polish, then maybe mine is a defective one? Lol hahaha I find the smell of this nail polish unbearable. And when I say unbearable I really mean it. I mean I know most nail polishes have this acetone smell, but this is just too much. I'd rather sniff on gasoline and rugby than this. Really the smell is bothering me. Korean products always have this nice smell, but what happened to this nail polish? O_O

Oh well, enough ranting. Today is the last day of the year 2011 (at least here in the Philippines). So to all of you I want to wish you a happy and safe New Year :)

Another Etude House Puchase

Sometime last week I went to JCentre Mall to pick my free SkinFood items. I got lost for a while, though the mall is not that big. When I saw SkinFood's store, I was shocked to see that Etude House was just across it. Its like hitting two birds with one stone :D Haha now I have an Etude House thats just a slight 10-15 minutes away. Hurray!

Anyways as expected, I wasn't able to hold back le self, so I ended up picking two items from the shop. At least I was able to hold back to up to two items only :)

Yay for pink paper bags :)

I really love Etude House's packaging and stuffs, so kawaii ^^

And now presenting what I bought~ nyhaha :) Happy Tea Time Green Tea Cleansing Foam and a pastel pink Nail Polish :)

I know I already have the lemon version, but I really wanted to get a hold of the green tea one. So when I saw this on the shelf I instantly paid for it without thinking lol. It costs Php148.00 ($3.39) for this big tube, so I can say that its really worth the price. Now I have two of these items to review :)

As for the nail polish, this was not something that I really needed. I just saw it on the counter, found it cute and so I bought it :| I have always thought Etude House's nail polishes are expensive, but the ones from SkinFood are more expensive~

Just like all their other products, this nail polish has a really cute brush handle. And it comes in pink packaging so its really pretty in my eyes. It costs P48.00 ($1.01), and for this nail polish I am going to say that I had just wasted my money on something that's not nice :( I have used this nail polish already and I am going to review it. But honestly, I really dislike it. I am just sad because the bottles are really cute, and I really love the pastel shades of the nail polishes.

And thats it :) Hehe its just a small purchase but I am quite happy because I was able to hold back. I had to leave the shop immediately to avoid further damage to my wallet :P

Also, I'm sorry for not being able to blog for a day or two. You might have heard already that a typhoon just hit the Mindanao area of the Philippines. Though I don't live there (and thank God my family and I are safe), there are a lot of people who already lost their family and their way of living. Anyways, it has been raining here in Cebu and I got sick. I also have cough and colds which makes it hard for me to do things~ I wish I would get well already because I dont like being sick. It just makes me more tired :|

November Purchases

Time flies by so fast, and its almost December. In a few days its going to be my birthday. Hoho I'm going to be a year older again. Boo! Anyways, here are a few of my recent purchases for the month of November. There are only a few items as I am really really saving my money for a brand new phone which I hope to purchase soon. Good thing my mother paid for some of the items, but she says it will be her birthday gift to me already. Tsss. Hate it lols.

As you can see on the photo, I got myself a new pair of skinny jeans. I love the design on this jeans because its got some rips on them, which I like to call "cool". Another thing that I love about this skinny jeans is that its actually super long, longer than me. I never thought I'd find a pants that would be longer than me, usually they are shorter or just long enough to barely cover my feet and I hate it so. Good thing I finally found one. I also bought a pair of shorts, I think this style is the trend of today. Its also got some rips on both sides, and I find it cool too :)

And then I also got something from Etude House, a facial cleanser called Happy Teatime Lemon Tea Cleansing Foam. I have been on the lookout for this, and though I originally wanted the Green Tea variant, they only have this on stock so I just bought it. It retails at $3.37 (Php148.00). I plan to go back to Etude House and buy something else :D

I also got me a pack of baby wipes. I bought them because I wanted to wipe the dirt off my feet, but I find the packaging too cute :3 Of course who would say Hello Kitty is not adorable? Its got a pretty pink packaging, me likey <3

And of course one of my necessities, nail stuffs. Harhar. I bought a bottle of sparkling nail polish which got lots of glitters on it. Then I also got a bottle of clear nail polish, and a pack of nail stickers. These are super duper cheap so I really didn't mind splurging. Mind you, these 3 items cost me less than a dollar :P

There you go. I might not go into spending my own personal money in the next few weeks to come because I am getting a new phone. I am still undecided though as to what to buy, but I want an android phone. I am now off to sleep, good morning guys :)

November Wish List {Beauty Products Edition}

Its almost Christmas, so I am now in the process of listing stuffs that I want to get. Though I am totally broke, it doesn't hurt to have a few things from time to time. And though this is just purely a list of what items I want to have, I really want to have all the items in my November Wish List Beauty Products Edition :)

Garnier Light Milky Lightening Dew - I have read good reviews about this product so I really wanted to try it too. Plus, I dont have a toner right now that I really want so it might be good to try other products.

Etude House Happy Tea Time Cleanser - I first had a glimpse of Etude House in SM Cebu and I was shocked at how expensive their items are. And from them on I vowed never to go inside just so I wouldn't be tempted. But then seeing bloggers blog about this product so many times I decided to give it a try. And now I couldn't wait till I get the chance to go to Etude House this weekend to buy it since its very cheap only (well, at least i can afford to lose a few $$$) haha.

Dolly Wink Eyeliner - I know this is a must have for every girl. Dolly Wink is a necessity, and I feel like I'm the only one who doesnt have it lol. Its quite expensive and I cant splurge on one single item for that price. And even though I know I can find a good deal on ebay, I'm still thinking about it. Hmmm.

Liole BB Cream - I haven't had much luck with BB creams, except for the Missha ones. Im going to put the blame on our country's hot climate. But seeing this again on most korean youtube gurus, I have decided that I wanted to try this one too.

Tony Moly Lip Tint - Im not really sure how this is going to be used, but I have also decided I am going to get this. Haha I was mainly influenced by a photo of this with Geum Jan Di as the endorser. It says she used this in her kdrama Boys Over Flowers, so yeah Im gonna buy it too :P

That's all for now I think. I have to remember I am broke, so I should not wish for too much if I know I cant buy it. It might just break my heart. Haha. But I'll continue to update this post if I find something again that I want to share =)
